Canadian refrigerant rules.
Refrigerant rules for most private grocery stores in Canada are set by the provinces. In Ontario, O. Reg. 463/10 covers ozone-depleting substances and other halocarbons, including HFCs, and requires certified technicians, leak testing and records. The federal Halocarbon Regulations, 2022 apply mainly to federal works and federal lands. Finding leaks early reduces refrigerant loss and paperwork under every one of these regimes.
